Mental Health and Wellbeing

POSITIVE MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING

“Mental health is a state of well-being in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community.” (World Health Organisation 2014)

As a part of South Pennine Academies, we are committed to a Trust-wide approach to Positive Mental Health and Wellbeing covering students, staff and the wider community.

Article 24 of the UN convention on the rights of the child states that: every child has the right to the best possible health. Governments must provide good quality health care, clean water, nutritious food, and a clean environment and education on health and well-being so that children can stay healthy.

Beaumont Primary Academy are passionate about and committed to making a difference to the lives of young people.  Our pupils are at the heart of every decision we make, to ensure that they feel happy, confident and safe in school and in the community.

We recognise how important mental health and emotional well-being is to our lives in just the same way as physical health.  We are committed to providing a healthy and caring environment that actively promotes and supports positive mental health for our whole school community: pupils, staff, parents and carers.

Support for Parents

Our Early Help offer at Beaumont supports children and their families to ensure that their needs are met and to eliminate any barriers that could affect your child getting a good education.

We have a coffee afternoon every two weeks which gives our parents/carers a chance to chat and share thoughts and experiences with each other. We are also joined by visiting professionals from;
  • Paddock Community Trust
  • Locala
  • Community Plus
  • Community Hub Lead
  • Parent Community Worker

We can offer information on local food banks, and charities that can support you through difficult times. We work alongside several agencies that we may be able to access beds and appliances such as fridges,  freezers and washing machines.
We are available, and on the school gate/campus twice a day, greeting parents/carers, and keeping an eye out for anyone needing a helping hand.
